Systems approach to re-imagine Google Meet for effective virtual collaboration.
With a rapid change in human interactions, virtual or digital communication is booming. Especially in situations like the ongoing pandemic, these have become inevitable or the ‘new normal’. This sudden shift has carried its own challenges, one of them being of effective online collaboration.
This systems project aimed at employing the human core drive and need of play and learn to address the opportunity of effective online collaboration amongst the creative virtual teams. The approach was to bring in the effectiveness of both physical and virtual collaboration. The intention is to create a hybrid design that could effectively prevail post the pandemic and re-imaging virtual collaboration platform.

Understanding the Context
We found that learning is the innate nature of human species. It essentially helps us survive, adapt and evolve.
Play is intrinsic motivation and a core biological human drive. It is vital in removing inhibitions, fostering healthy and positive relations, collaboration, simulating and adapting, to name a few.
Play acts as a positive reinforcement & is one of the major drivers in facilitating learning. Elements and sub-systems of Play and learn were mapped and connections between them were established in the form of Gigamap.
*GIGAMAP represents the core and influencing parameters of Play and Learn. Their sub- systems and parts are interconnected based on their relationship,
influence, emergence, dependency, cause and effect, etc. It also depicts the various narrative in which they are relevant and details out the connections.
The chosen boundary was the integration of Play & Learn in context to an organization/ workplace for effective collaboration. It plays a pivotal role and can efficiently aid in making the teams agile, relevant, adaptive and also increase their response through uncertainty. Through contextual inquiry and research, we mapped the emergence of Virtual Collaboration.

Design for an effective virtual collaboration amongst creative teams.
Data collected was structured and connected optimally in a System Map. This helped map the relationships, current and favourable collaboration system to gain Leverage points. These would be the opportunity areas that could bring efficiency to the system.
Further, these points were explored and validated along with other findings.

Make the experience more dynamic, include more visual cues, and enhance the field of view. Also, incorporate the effectiveness of physical collaboration for brainstorming/ discussion apart from digital.
